It’s officially award show season! As for any award show, millions tuned in last night to the Golden Globe Awards. Bloggers and entertainment sites went crazy over who wore what and who did what. As for me, it was all about beauty. From neutral faces to bold lip colors, the women of the Golden Globes served last night and I was there for every bit of it. Here are 13 beauty looks of the Golden Globes! Some were hits while some missed it by just a hair.
This beauty is known for her signature smokey eye, which she sported of course. Paired with a neutral lip. Kate Hudson proved to us that less is definitely more in certain situations. However, I would have liked to see a pop of color on the lips since she also rocked a nude dress.
I honestly feel like Zendaya can do no wrong. She paired her bold colored dress with a warm toned nude lip and subdued eyes with bold eyelashes. This look should be a piece of cake to mimic and can be worn for day or night.
With this look, Jaimie accented her hazel eyes with a slight smokey eye and pink nude lips. The simple look was just enough to go along with her gorgeous v plunging gown.
The Queen!! She paired her ice blue gown with matching eye shadow, pink frosty blush and berry glossed lips. This look is perfect for the season and is a striking natural glam look.
This year’s Miss Golden Globes Corinne Foxx, daughter of Jamie Foxx, looked absolutely beautiful. She paired her neutral eye makeup with a pop of pink color on the lips. This look is great for everyday and even safe for the office.
Jada Pinkett Smith
Mrs. Smith was not afraid to play with color. She accentuated her green gown with a lovely shade of shimmery green eyeshadow and warm nude lips. Perfection is an understatement.
Olivia Wilde was also not afraid to play with color. Her cranberry smokey eye was one of my favorite looks of the night. Paired with a nude lip it brought the whole look together. However, I think I would have loved the overall look a bit more if her hair was up instead of down. It would have brought more attention to her face and statement necklace.
Taraji P. Henson
Cookie served face and body at last night’s award show. Her gold shimmery eye paired with nude lips went perfectly with her winter white dress. In my opinion, she would’ve also looked great with a bold red lip. Either or honestly works great with this look.
She looked absolutely amazing, but I was left wanting more. I think the bold color of the dress washes her out. She should be wearing the dress, but the dress is wearing her. If she would have just had a pop of color on the lips, it would’ve been bomb. Like maybe a nice deep red lipstick or berry colored gloss.
The queen of all queens! Angela was another one who went with a nude look, but in her case it worked. Her dress was a bright reddish orange that accented her skin color flawlessly. She got away with not wearing a lip because of this. She honestly did not need it. This all goes along with knowing which colors look great with your skin tone and which colors will wash you out. Of course she added some flare with bold eyelashes and perfectly sculpted brows.
Regina King is another example of working her dress in her favor. This full sequin gold dress was enough for her to get away with wearing minimal makeup. She had a slightly shimmery eye and the warm colored lips definitely brought the look together for me.
There is no question that Amber Heard is a show stopper. Her look was my favorite of the night! She looked absolutely gorgeous, in so little words. Her cranberry matte lips paired with her subdued cranberry smokey eye perfectly complemented her dress and the gorgeous design across the neckline. Also, I cannot look past the overall glow of her face! Perfection.
Of course, I could not do a recap without voicing my opinion on Ms. JLo herself. She looked BOMB! Which is why she is tied for my favorite look of the night. Her gold shimmery eyeshadow paired with bold and rich red lips and a bronzy glow complemented her stunning yellow gown to perfection. I swear she makes it look so effortless!
These were my top picks of the night! Did your favorite make the list? Are you interested in seeing one of these looks recreated? Let me know! I would love to hear of your favorite looks from this year’s Golden Globes. Can’t wait to recap the next award show! Stay tuned!
