To celebrate 14 years in the hair care industry CURLS hosted an event that will be hard to forget. From acrobats, stilt walkers, magicians, a DJ, amazing food and special swag bags full of curly hair products, this celebration was definitely one for the books!
For starters, let’s talk food. During the beginning of the event, different appetizers flowed throughout the room. For entrees, guests were served grilled shrimp with potatoes au gratin that were cooked to perfection. Followed by a sweet blueberry crumble for dessert. CURLS played on the blueberry theme based on the name of their newest collection “Blueberry Bliss“. They also featured a special blueberry cocktail created just for the event. Guests were even able to satisfy their sweet tooth from a candy table with countless combinations.
During the middle of the celebration, CURLS Founder and CEO Mahisha Dellinger presented the first ever CURLS Innovative Entrepreneur Award to Eric Brown and Renee Cottrell Brown, owners of Johnson Products Company, who have been in the black hair care industry for over 20 years. Mahisha also had a sit-down interview and Q&A session moderated by model consultant and posing coach, De’Ana Fierce. From this short interview, Mahisha shared personal struggles and triumphs and did not hold anything back, which was truly inspiring to witness.
Of course guests did not go home empty handed. The swag bags included CURLS Blueberry Bliss Reparative Leave-In Conditioner, Blueberry Bliss Curl Control Jelly and Lavish Curls Moisturizer. There was also an issue of Black Hair Magazine and a copy of CEO and Founder of CURLS, Mahisha Dellinger, book “Against All Odds: From the Projects to the Penthouse”. Guests even got to take home the CURLS personalized champagne glass from the blueberry cocktails, which were a nice touch.
