LUSH Skincare Product Review: Aqua Marina, BB Seaweed + Vanishing Cream

I say this all the time and cannot stress it enough. The key to flawless makeup application is having great skin as a foundation. It is important to understand your skin type to know what will and will not work for you. Recently, I decided to try out some skincare products from LUSH Cosmetics.

If you are not familiar with LUSH, it is a cruelty-free company that offers fresh, organic, handmade products for the hair, face and body. Most people recognize them for their for renowned bath bombs and other body products, but don’t sleep on their skincare products! Let’s get into some that I recently added into my skincare routine.

Aqua Marina Face and Body Cleanser

From the looks of it, this product may not be very appealing, but your face will beg to differ. I am not going to lie the first couple times I used it, I used another cleanser right afterwards just to be sure I wouldn’t have a negative reaction to it because my skin is just that sensitive, unfortunately. Once I started to use it on it’s own, I realized how soft and less irritated my skin was. The active ingredient in this cleanser is calamine powder, which is a solvent for itchiness. My eczema flare ups cause itchiness and this helps to soothe that and the redness. The seaweed and aloe vera gel are other ingredients that help to soften and add moisture to the skin.

BB Seaweed Fresh Face Mask

My first time using this product I was blown away! This isn’t necessarily a clay mask but it does get harder on your face over the 10 minutes you’re supposed to have it on. I noticed that after I rinsed off the mask, my skin was not dry or ashy looking AT ALL which is huge for my skin type! My skin was soft, radiant and felt rejuvenated. This product is made for sensitive skin and it’s main ingredient is seaweed. It assists in soothing the skin and also helps with light exfoliation due to the ground almonds. This is a product that should be kept in the fridge.

Vanishing Cream Facial Moisturizer

If you have oily, troublesome/acne prone skin this product is for you! Although I have neither of those, I do have an oily T-zone at times and I have dark marks due to eczema. Some of the active ingredients are witch hazel which helps to balance oils and tighten pores and rose water which helps to smooth the skin. Witch hazel is an astringent that cleanses and clears the skin. Instead of buying this one I got a sample size of it. Let’s just say, I should’ve went ahead and got the full size! I use this product for daytime and so far I have noticed a slight difference in the oiliness of my T-zone and even some, not all, dark marks. I believe that with extensive use of this product, it will make a huge difference in my skin.

These product choices were based on what I wanted to incorporate into my skincare routine. I was looking for products to help with my sensitive, dry combination skin. My main targets were dark marks and eczema flare ups. After about 2 weeks of regular use, I will be adding these into my routine from here on out.

If you are a first time visitor at the store, I recommend getting help from one of the workers. They can help you find the right products for your skin type and even give a demo to show you how to use the products. Also, if you do not want to commit to buying a product, you can get a sample to see how it works for you.

Plan on going to a LUSH store soon? Anything in mind or just curious? Let me know!

Stay pretty!
